WORLD PEACE PRAYER PEACE SOCIETY

Since the mid 1990s, Hagit has fulfilled the role of Peace Representative of the World Peace Prayer Society. The World Peace Prayer Society is a nonprofit, non-sectarian, member-supported organization dedicated to spreading the message and prayer May Peace Prevail on Earth all over the world. It was founded in Japan by Masahisha Goi in 1955, and in 1988 the world headquarters moved to New York. In 1990 the Society was accepted as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in affiliation with the Department of Public Information of the United Nations.
People of all backgrounds are welcome to join the World Peace Prayer Society. Membership is free; all that is asked is to take the prayer May Peace Prevail on Earth into your heart and make it part of your life. (www.worldpeace.org)

FLAG CEREMONIES

As the Peace Representative Hagit has been involved with planting over than 70 Peace Poles in Israel and Palestine, including the Gaza Strip and in the West Bank. A Peace Pole is a hand-crafted monument that displays the message and prayer May Peace Prevail on Earth on each face of this four sided pole, usually in different languages. There are more than 200,000 Peace Poles in 180 countries all over the world dedicated as monuments to peace. They serve as constant reminders for us to visualize and pray for world peace.

The following text, is used by Hagit during Peace Pole dedication and Flag Ceremonies. Each time a ceremony occurs, it adds to the energy of Peace being generated throughout the Earth!

Peace Pole Ceremonies

Peace in my Heart,
Peace in my Home and Family,
Peace in my country,
Peace in the Middle East,
Peace Prevail on Earth.

This Peace Pole is now been added to nearly 200,000 Peace Poles planted in over than 160 countries around the world, embrace nearly 50 poles all over Israel and about 10 around the Palestinians’ territories.

Furthering the vision started on the 1950s by the Japanese spiritual teacher, Mr. Masahisa Goi, which was driven by his desire to spread the vision of World Peace - “May Peace Prevail on Earth”.

The core of this message lies in knowing that Peace dwells in the hearts and minds of each son and daughter of every society on earth. As we learn to honor each other, honor our environment and all creation upon Earth, the vision of global peace through sincere, respectful communication will become a natural way of life.

With your permission, and on behalf of us all, I wish to dedicate this Pole, especially at this time, to those who put themselves out in the cause of peace, continuously and tirelessly devoting their lives to manifest peace, out of mutual respect. To all peace soldiers using the only weapon they know – the unconditional love which lives in all hearts. They determinedly walk the path of peace until peace prevail on earth. “Peace intensity” exists in all nations, all societies, and so do its seekers.

World Peace Prayer Flag Ceremony

During Flag Ceremonies people come together to pray for peace in each nation, in the presence of an image of that nation’s flag.

One by one the participants receive the national flags of each of the nations, in alphabetical order. While the name of the nation is being announced the person with the flag for that nation holds it up for everyone to see and together with the entire gathered community proclaims: “May Peace be in that country”. After each 10 countries a bell sounds participants declare togather, loud and clear “May Peace Prevail on Earth”.

Although we devote only a few seconds to each of the nations, please pray with your most heartfelt intention, remembering too the inhabitants of that country at the same time as paying respect to its national flag. As we do this, we can be amazed by the unique beauty of each flag whilst recognizing that they symbolize our separation as different nations. Then, in order to demonstrate the possibility of harmony on earth, we bring the ceremony to a close by collecting all the flags and we spread them in the center of the circle to create a marvelous and most harmoniously colorful Mandala, representing the magnificent and ever possible one-ness of humanity.

May I invite you to dedicate our ceremony, especially at this time, to all those people who have enthusiastically and tirelessly devoted their lives to manifest peace. To all those who carry the torch of peace knowing that their only weapon is the unconditional love that dwells in all hearts. To those who are motivated by the power and the life force of Inner Peace, who are walking determinedly on that path until the absolute revealing of Peace on Earth. Let us acknowledge that there are seekers with the strong desire for peace existing in all cultures, all nations and all faiths.

With infinite Gratitude, Peace, Love & Light
